 This is footage of a subcompact tractor (Kubota BX2230) peeling back sod using the bucket of the front end loader.
There are a number of factors which can impact whether you can be succesful peeling back sod with your tractor or not. Soil conditions, the weight of your tractor, etc. all play a role. In this particular case, the operator was able to use the weight at the front of the tractor to dig the edge of the bucket into the soil. He then feathered the loader controls while moving forward to effectively "peel" the sod from the ground.
