This video clip provides footage of the general steps involved in removing a Front End Loader ("FEL") from a compact utility tractor. Note that the tractor used in this footage is a John Deere 2320 and a the FEL is a Model 200CX - each tractor and FEL has their own set of removal instructions - please consult the documentation and safety precautions provided by the manufacturer of your respective equipment when performing this task.
The general steps are as follows: 1) Remove rear attachment/ballast box. 2) Be sure loader is equipped with a materials bucket. 3) Start tractor engine. 4) Release parking brake and/or place transmission in NEUTRAL. 5) Dump bucket 10-20 degrees and lower to ground. 6) Retract lift cylinders, raising front wheels 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) off the ground. 7) Move both loader mast latches upward into UNLOCKED position. 8) Extend loader lift cylinders until parking stand contacts ground, masts completely lift off frames and latches automatically snap into locked position. 9) Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in PARK. 10) Shut off tractor engine and remove key. 11) Move control lever(s) back and forth and side-to-side (if applicable) several times. 12) Disconnect hoses at couplers and install dust plugs and caps. 13) Remove hydraulic hoses from guide (mounted on tractor to support hoses). 14) Store hoses on lift cylinder, DO NOT lay them on the ground. 15) Start tractor engine. 16) Disengage tractor parking brake and place transmission in REVERSE. Slowly move tractor away from loader.
